MBWales - Indulge in the best of 2011

Indulge in the best of 2011

As we eke towards the end of 2011 I've indulged myself in a moment of nostalgia to reflect on some of the best, most memorable and inspirational Welsh Mountain Biking videos from the last 12 months. It's a mixed bag including big mountain descents, enduro events, dirt jumps and awesome trail centres.

I've no doubt missed a few so let me know which videos you would add to the list but for now sit back, turn up the volume, click play and enjoy.

Slippery Steep Carnage!

A visual experiment researching what happens when you mix slippery, steep off camber corners on an XC descent! Back in March the BUCS 2011 Moelfre Downhill race provided a long and epic weekend. The people from This is Sheffield where on hand to film the event and this little video was all filmed from one very slippery, off camber/steep corner. It caught out nearly every rider. You smile and then it almost becomes too much!

Big Mountain Snowdon Descent

Also in March Edward Watkins took on the challenge of Descending down the highest mountain in England and Wales, Snowdon. Fortunately for us he Shot it all with his GoPro Helmet Hero.

Howies Coed Y Brenin Enduro

Back in October the motley crew who bring you the Howies Dyfi Enduro created a brand new event for 2011 in the UK’s most famous mountain biking forest - Coed Y Brenin. Filmed by Maia Media it provides a taste of the event from a riders perspective. Taking in everything from tarmac, forest road, rough dirt track, fields and technical purpose built singletrack.

Neil Donogue rides Llandegla's new B-Line trail

We've featured this stunning video already on MBWales.com when it was released last month. It's filmed by LaurenceCE and captures Neil Donahuge riding, jumping and swooping along the new red and black trail sections at Coed Llandegla.

Local dirt jumps and downhill

Uploaded only a couple of weeks ago by Ben Walton, it's a visual feast featuring local downhill riding in South Wales and dirt jumps at Moos, Swansea.
