The Butchers Arms is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, South Wales and boasts a superb location that is close to many local attractions.
The pub has a separate restaurant area, an 18 bed bunkhouse, a bar area that serves real ale from guest brewers as well as beers brewed by ourselves in our very own brewery, named The Crafty Dragon. We also have the usual selection of lagers, ciders, and stouts. The quality of our own brewed beers has been recognised by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) and we are included in the 2019 CAMRA Good Beer Guide. We also have a separate games room with pool table and dart board.
We are located just a few hundred metres from Pontsticill Reservoir and the Brecon Mountain Railway. BIKE PARK WALES is a short drive (or cycle) away and we have a secure lockup for guests that bring their own bikes. Our pub is just metres from the Taff Trail and with Pen y Fan and the rest of the beautiful Brecon Beacons close by it is the perfect base for walking, cycling or just a sight seeing drive in the National Park. There are two golf course within 3 miles of the pub. The local reservoir has a sailing club and an outdoor pursuits centre.
We have good quality mountain bikes that are available to rent on a full or half day basis. If required we can supply routes for varying levels of rider skills.
If walking or cycling is not your thing there are plenty of other ways to enjoy your visit: a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway, Fishing in the reservoir, water skiing at nearby Llangorse Lake, golf, or just enjoy a meal and a few pints of our finest ales while watching the game on one of our large flat screen TVs.
