BikePark Wales

South Wales |

About

BikePark Wales is the UK’s largest mountain bike park with the most diverse range of trails to suit riders from beginner to professional. The 1200 acre site has over 47 descending trails organised in a similar manner to a ski resort, colour marked making it easy to see which trail is right for you.

Built in the heart of the South Wales Valleys, BikePark Wales offers mountain bike trails for beginner to pro level riders. Not just for downhillers, this park can be enjoyed on good quality mountain bikes and if you don’t have one, we’ve got you covered with our range of hire bikes.

The park offers a highly recommended mini bus service which transports you and your bike to the top of the hill. It’s a 300 vertical metre climb to the summit so to enjoy the park at it’s best the uplift is the way to go! Using the uplift service, the average rider can expect to get 8 to 12 runs in a day. For those choosing to use the uplift service we highly recommend booking an uplift ticket in advance as more often than not tickets are sold out well in advance. This shouldn’t stop you from coming to visit though, there are almost unlimited day passes (for pedal up riders) and on quiet days limited numbers of pay as you go uplift tickets are also available.

For those who do wish to reach the top under their own steam a singletrack climb to the summit offers a human powered option. At 4.6 km the pedal up singletrack trail will take between 25 and 50 minutes depending on fitness and it is quite challenging.

The sheer quantity and variety of trails at BikePark Wales is unrivalled in the UK and it really requires 2-3 days of riding to explore all the options. We have everything from sinuous flowy trails to technical and gnarly rock gardens, jump trails, natural trails and everything between.

New to mountain biking? We all started somewhere!  Our 4.2 Km long beginner downhill trail “Kermit” is utterly unique and in our experience offers one of the best introductions to mountain biking available anywhere in the world. We have dedicated experiences tailored for the novice rider, our ticket to ride option means you are looked after from start to finish by one of our experienced hosts who will introduce you to the sport, give you some fundamental tips and advice, help you get kitted up and guide you through your ride on the mountain.

Bike Hire
Bike hire is available on site but booking is recommended .
Coaching
BikePark Wales offers a comprehensive list of coaching courses designed to improve your skills and safety on the trails.
The Woodland Cafe
The Woodland Cafe  is based onsite at the heart of the bike park. It sells everything from full Welsh breakfasts and BPW burgers to tea, coffee and cake.
Bike shop and Repairs
Onsite we have a well stocked bike shop as well as a workshop that’ll get you back up and running if you have any mechanical issues on the day of your ride.

You may book the uplift service up to 3 months in advance.

Check out our extensive range of trails before you come!

There is free parking on site. For those wishing to pedal up rather than use the uplift there is a day entry fee, 100% of which goes to maintaining and improving the trail network.
