Following the stunning route of the Victorian railway line used in the construction of the dams, the Elan Valley Trail runs all the way from Rhayader, through the Elan Valley and up to the top of Craig Goch dam.
Ideal for families and novice cyclists, the trail is laid tarmac from Rhayader, past the Elan Valley Visitor Centre and up to Garreg Ddu viaduct, with the rest of the route as a crushed stone surface. The trail is often also used to “join the dots” between different iconic mountain bike routes.
The trail can be picked up in multiple places along its route, meaning you can make it as short/ long of a ride as you like.
