The Roost is a small eco friendly glamping site just outside Merthyr Tydfil and on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. We’re really close to BikePark Wales and on the Taff Trail (cycle route 8)
So what makes us so cyclist friendly?
– 4 cabins have in-cabin storage porches for bikes, gear etc
– 1 ensuite cabin with separate lockable bike unit
– 1 (sometimes 2) spaces for small campervans with hook up shower room and outdoor sink area
– Bike wash with Muc-Off, brushes and stand
– Turvec bike maintenance repair station with tools/stand
– Secure gated site with plenty of parking
– 15 minutes off-road to BikePark Wales (10 by car)
– On the Taff Trail (part of NCN route 8, which goes to Cardiff or Brecon and all the way to Anglesey (long distance trail, Lôn Las Cymru, NCN route 8)
– Troedyrhiw train station is a 5 minute walk away and connects to Cardiff and beyond so a car’s not necessary
– Visit Wales Glamping accredited site and carry the cyclists welcome award.
