“The first officially accessible downhill trail in Wales – Y Mynydd starts with three options – fast and flowy, naturally rooty or steep and twisty. Through the road tunnel and into two options – natural and super techy or fast drops and berms both flow off the road drop into the finale where the trail just gets wider, faster and more airborne into the final screaming tabletop finish.”
This 1.7km track offers steep technical sections, a very fast open section near the bottom, jumps, drops, berms, in fact probably one of the biggest berms you’ll ever see, as well as some doubles and even a massive gap jump if you want to try it. Pretty much everything on this track is rollable, and there are a number of line choices so you don’t always have to take the big air option. However there are some larger features like the gap jumps and some of the drop offs that you should check out before you ride them – if you are new to this site please look before you leap off any of the jumps.
Extreme downhill mountain bike trail for experienced riders only. The trail drops 250m through the steep hillsides of Cwmcarn. An Uplift pass is available by booking with www.cwmdown.co.uk. [Private Uplifts are not Permitted]
